About the Author

I have worked as a reporter, writer, researcher, communications consultant, health promoter, teacher, and artist. My most recent day jobs were with an Aboriginal health centre and NS Public Health. Currently I am a doctoral candidate in Cultural Studies at Queen’s University in Kingston (see eatingalone.ca if you’re interested in following my academic work). I live in rural Nova Scotia in a farmhouse built in 1860… so you know what I do in my spare time.

I’ve been writing fiction and poetry all of my life. I finished my second novel, The Madrigal — it’s due out with Inanna in May — and am busy working on my third, Tintamarre.
